Trailer hitch

Is it possible to add a 1" metal bar between frame and hitch to drop it by 1"? I installed a Ranch Hand bumper on the X and it covers 1/2 the tube on the hitch by 1". I Would like to keep the current reciever and not put on a bolt on tube on the bumper.

No prob. I started doing the same thing. But then I think that some bolts are on the side, which means an offset plate, and the bolts going up now have to deal with a higher shear force which means lower trailer weight, etc.

Then I remembered a similar problem with a custom bumper on a Jeep years ago which blocked the receiver. The solution was just to weld another receiver tube to the bumper itself.

Looking at my truck it looks like there should be plenty of ground clearance for most conditions.
