glad to hear it trav. keep a couple quarts in the truck for use... just in case it happens again..... how fast were you driving when you pulled that thing?
Bad news it isn't fixed. We drove it today and it is still leaking I got a load of wood flooring on it and got it home. Autozone says some kinda seal. I am probably going to send it to a mecahanic. Gerrrr!!!!!. Oh well got to get her fixed.
Trav
thats what autozone said I am going to ask a few mechanics how much they will charge because I need to work on the house and plus I don't got all the tools for this job.
Trav
hey trav, before you send it out, its not hard to pull that trans yourself,, i had mine out in 2hours... at least if you can get it out by yourself you wouldnt have to pay the shop to do that,,, there was a thread somewhere on here about what was required to pull the 4r100.. in the SD forum or maybe the 99-03 7.3 forum.. its really not hard if you have the tools. and time.
I don't have the proper tools to get it out without messing it up even more. Tools are limited around the house since the fire. I was lucky to be able to pull a 1984 Bronco 2 transmission and transfer case and I was using cresent wrenches and vise grips mainly.

I know it's a month later but What Happened? I just did the same thing and pulled the trans and put new seal in the front. Pulled the trailer up towards tahoe and all is good. No leaks. No special tools needed but lots of extensions help!!!
The truck is all good and running. The leak was because it was over filled my dad put to much in. Right now the truck just has a flat tire till weneseday.
