Ok I was at the scrap yard the other day and and seen a late 80's brick nose 4door f350 2 wheel drive auto i believe it is the e4od with the 7.3 that is actually owned by the scrap yard but is sitting due to a flat tire I asked about it and the guy had no idea but I stopped by today and he had the info for me (forgot to ask year though) he said absolutely nothing wrong with it except the tire and they would take 1,700 for it... Only issue I have is 2 wheel drive... So do you guys think it's worth it? And the body other than the bed is in decent shape

if you don't require 4wd,that's all fine and dandy.if you have an issue with a truck because it lacks 4wd,that's a very, very large issue.let 'er go to another home.don't let the low price of 2wd's get to ya.
Well other than 2wd it (to me) is perfect its a one ton 4x4 diesel and even though I have read its not easy I am really considering getting it and pulling the 4x4 front axle out of my 250 for now and making it 4x4 have read its not fun but not impossible or even for now leaving it 4x2 and using my
Other for it when needed till I find a Dana 60 to put under it I have been looking for a old style 4 door diesel for about 8 or 9 years now closest I have found is my ext cab I have now and it's a. Pain with the kids it will be a road queen but winters here often require 4x4 at some point in time
don't do it.settle for a 2wd,knowing a 4wd is required................it'll be the last time you make that mistake if you do lol.
that said,a crew cab 4wd,diesel truck is no easy purchase.pricey and rarer.i wouldn't want to be in your shoes.best of luck.
converting the 2wd frame to 4wd......you've really got to love punishing yourself lol.
Like I
Said though been looking for almost 10 years last one I found was almost 5k and in worse shape like I said might get it and eventually convert it to 4x4
put 1000 lbs against the tailgate and forget about 4wd. We get a pretty good amount of snow in Michigan and I have never had traction issues with my 2wd F250 or my 2wd F150.
If I do get it I will be doing alot of stuff to it immediately to switch noses and beds (don't like brick nose and bumper is kinda messed up and also bed is in ruff shape
What about looking for a gasser and doing an engine swap? It would be a lot cheaper and faster than a 4x conversion wouldn't it? Gassers are definately more readily available, at least around here.
Would be something I would consider if I could find one lol I honestly can't find an old body style f250-350 or higher 4x4 and like I said hell might just leave it the way it is lol
