We all know the trucks burn cleaner than the last time they looked at diesel exhaust (1987?), so why bring it up now. Must be to protect the developing countrys.
All I will say is they can have my diesel when they pry the keys from my cold dead hands!
Too much water can kill you, tea causes cancer one year and coffee is good for you then transpose those ideas the next year based on a "new study."
I don't see how breathing exhaust from gasoline cars is any better.
I wonder how much this study cost?
Five years from now there will be a study that DEF is bad for us.
I think the long term health effects of exposure to diesel exhaust are a much greater concern in commercial and industrial settings from a workforce health & safety issue than from the exhaust produced by light and medium duty trucks.
The older I get, the more I learn that everything in moderation won't harm you. (within reason so don't get too excited, common sense)
Getting a whiff of school bus exhaust, moms SUV exhaust, every day? Yes, it's bad but won't kill you. Breathing it, inhaling the fumes for a couple hours each day? Yes, that will do something.
My son loves tuna sandwiches. He wants one every day, I showed him the commonly accepted guidelines on tuna, kids should just get it once per week max because of naturally occurring mercury.
You just can't consume too much of anything consistently over a long period of time. It's not smart, anyone can see that it's common sense. Eat, drink, inhale something different every day, live long and prosper.....
