Inroduction

Hello everyone I am pretty new here and it is time I introduce Myself.

My name is Jon and I am Happily married to my wife Carolyn

in my teens I did a lot of wrenching on Mopars (is that a bad word here?)

then as I turned 21 I spent 10 years as an aircraft mechanic in the USAF.

I am now a Disabled Veteran due to severe Heart Conditions.

about 14 years ago I stop doing any kind of Mechanical work due to my heart.

well after several minor surgeries one major surgery and one somewhere in between the two I am doing the best I have in many years.

The last few years I became a ford owner and I had anybody who could turn a wrench doing repairs for me. (results not so desirable sometimes).

last november we where given a 1992 Ford StarCraft High top conversion van that would not run or shift gears.

I decided since my wife loved the van it was time for me to gather a few tools and start wrenching for myself again. I managed to get the engine running enough to find out the transmition did not shift. That is how I ended up here.

with the help of several in the forum over the last few weeks we managed to get the engine and transmition ironed out. and moved on to the breaks with more help from the forum we got the rear ABS light to turn off and some advice on exhaust... Well the reason I decided to pick up my tools again is 1. I want to know that it is being fixed and fixed correctly. and 2. I feel the best I have in years.

I still have to take several breaks and work at my own pace but I am loving every minute of it.

since joining this forum I have put the van on the road as our daily driver and gave my ranger (it was way to small for our needs) to our son so he could get to and from work.

I will admit that I am rusty as far as auto mechanics go and I am new to Fords.

So rest assured I will be around and asking questions and hopefully get to a point where I can help others.

Just remember I some times over complicate things unintentionally so dont be afraid to remind me to use the Kiss principable. (Keep It Simple Stupid) it sure will not offend me..

I want to thank you all for your help so far and look forward to being around for awhile.

once again thanks

and hello

Jon

Welcome aboard Jon!
We can live with the odd mention of Mopars.
I`m glad to hear that you are feeling great again and back to wrenching, especially on Fords.
