hard start
recently i found out that my injector pump was for a truck with a manual transmission, witch means it wasnt capable of operating the fipl appropreatly, so i swapped pumps and i now have the right pump on, the problem is is that its now having trouble start when hot or cold there are no fuel leaks and the whole glowplug system is good. its cranking normally "now i need to hook the batteries up to a charger"but takes a while to fire up its also making a weird knock like its not timed 
could it be the dynamic timing? injectors? youre information would be greatly apreceated

When you changed the pump ... did you remove the pump and injection lines in one assembly .. it should have looked like a big butterfly when you removed it. Also, did you unbolt the pump from the tower or did you remove the tower and all ??????????

there should be an alignment mark on the pump and on the housing. If you get them lined up ,, you should be in the ball park for operating. If you move the lines either way, do not exceed the width of the lines. You can move the pump by hand WITH THE ENGINE OFF and try restarting the engine. Also after you get it running, try bleeding the air out of the fuel system by loosening the nuts on top of the nozzles til there is no air in the fuel. Also make sure you didnt goof up any wiring or connections when you removed and reinstalled the pump. It doesnt take too much to make the whole thing goofy.

i checked all the electrical conections and there right the static timmingis right on, i drove over 200 miles on the highway non stop so the air should be bled, i had bad diesel fule so i drained and re bled that throuh but with this new fuel im shooting out black smoke and its still hard starting
