help with starter relay wiring on 02 7.3
Hey guys im sure there is a thread for this but couldnt find it
.. well the run down is i swapped the motor from my 02 7.3 F350 with a fresh 7.3 from a 00 7.3. I have everything hooked up and ready just need a little guidance because the 00 has a starter relay on the inner fender and my 02 does not. How do i wire it up...pictures help lol.

Someone else would have a better understanding of the differences but that relay on the fender is one of them, there may or may not be others. I wonder if the 42 pin pinout is the same between them outside of that relay.

What wire harness is running across the firewall to the RH side? The 00 or the 02? This is for the 02 harness still being in the truck, and you plugged the 00 engine into the 02 harness above the valve cover.
Can (did) you swap the fender mounted relay from the 00 into the 02? Including the battery cables to the relay, the "double red wires" that go down to the starter, and the glow plug relay/alternator harness? If = YES, find the small wire that went to the starter in the 02, and connect it to the small terminal on the fender relay. You will also have to run a large-gauge (#6, min) wire from the battery post on the fender relay to the junction block on the LF inner fender, that is just forward of the fuse box. This is the main power for the 02 harness.
There are probably some other subtle differences in the alternator small-gauge wiring, but the above should get it to crank.
