I have a 2012 F350 SRW with the 6.7 engine. I am getting ready to buy a TPMS system for my 5th wheel trailer and I got to thinking about my truck. I have never seen a light come on for the TPMS, not even when I start the truck. I have not seen anything for it in the multiple information screen. I know that the real big trucks are not required to have a TPMS. Does my F350 qualify and that is why I can't find out anything about it? Or, the reason I can't see anything on it is because it is just an idiot light that comes on when there is a problem? I appreciate any assistance I can get with this because if the truck does not have a decent TPMS then I will spend the extra bucks and just add more sensors to the one I get for my 5th wheel trailer.
Your local Discount Tire Company has a tool that they use to test and recalibrate your TPMS and they would probably check this for you for free. It's a neat little gadget that when they remount or rotate your tires, they can calibrate without having to let any air out.
TPMS and the idiot light are on my 2011 F350. As for your "does it apply to the 350" question, the TREAD act which brought about the TPMS, as I read it, only applies to those vehicles with a GVWR of 10k or less.
There is a thread on here that shows you how to go into a troubleshooting/test mode on the information screen. On my 04 it would illuminate all the idiot lights as well. You might give that a try.
