Cooling System Additives?

If this has already been done to death apologies in advance!

'03 E250 5.4 gas motor, new-to-me, 165K miles, well maintained by PO, a trucking company who valued their rolling assets. What are the recommendations for cooling system maintenance regarding flushing (pro or DIY?), what brand or type and refresh intervals and are there any additives I should be using for longer life of the block, radiator etc etc?

Follow mfg recommendations. Flush yourself and use distilled water to refill or use premix coolant. Takes a while as you have a lot of hoses to disassemble. Don't use additional additives.
