Thanks ri,

Thanks fir the feedback, i think im stuck beteeen the autosoring 1.5 inch and the poly 1inch daystar leveling kit, I'd like ti decrease the rake but not thinking I need or want to be completley level if that makes sense...just I've heard mire positive feedback on Autospring vs Daystar.

Guess I am the oddball here but I think they look goofy once they are leveled. I think they should have a little rake, makes them look sporty to me. Maybe they went with a bit too much but if you level it if you hook up to a trailer or put much in the bed you are going to be nose up.

No plans on pulling anytime soon here, I'll have to weigh my options as I have some accessories to add first.

I like the Toyo Open Country AT as well. But i have a few friends that are now running the Nitto Terra Grappler and they love that tire and seem to get a good long life out of them. I may try them when my factory tires are shot. That will be a long time though as i only have 450 miles on my truck now.

probably 305/70R17 will be your biggest. I just did a 2" leveling and tried to stuff 315/70R17 in there but it was dangerously close to the upper ball joint and touching the upper control arm just before full lock when turning. I ended up ordering aftermarket rims with a 0-offset, and I'll have 325-65R18's on there.

Well, I am the second odd ball, so don't feel so bad. Times have changed. I remember well when having the A___ end higher was the thing. The going thing was a single cab with tall mud grips on the back. Being level wasn't that big of a deal. I had the tall mud grips and always carried a shovel in the bed for when I got stuck. I had 3 F100's before the 150 came out in 1975. I think that is when they came out, been to long. My first 150 was a 78 single cab with a 302. My present truck is a 2012 F250 with a 6.2. It is a little high in the back and that is fine with me. Being level has never been an issue with me. I am just saying that back in the 70's just about all PU's were high in the A__ end. My 250 sets pretty level with the pontoon boat or utility trailer hooked up. I use a weight distribution hitch for the RV. Not a thing wrong with someone wanting the big tires and being level. I would probably do the same thing now if I was a lot younger. Is there any MPG loss after a leveling kit install. I have read that the cowling or what ever it is below the bumper on my 250 helps the gas mileage. Restricts the air flow from under the truck. Wonder how it would be if the 250 was level, would more air get under it and reduce the mileage. Seems like I read where the thing below the bumper (I know what it is called but can't think of the darn thing right now) increases the 250 mileage by around 2 mpg. I really like this forum. I enjoy reading about what you all do to your trucks. Within the next few days I'll be installing a new 5100 Bilstein steering stabilizer. I have driven a 2011 F250 with a 5100 Bilstein and it takes the bumps and raised expansion joints better than my stock 2012 250 FX4. Keep modifying your trucks because I enjoy reading what you all do.

I had 285/70R17 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's on before my lift/level. They fit pretty good and only rubbed on one side on the mud flap. I noticed that there were some stones between the rubber flap and inner fenderwell that appear to be pushing the flap further out into the wheel opening. 285/70R17 is 33" according to the Goodyear website. You won't get any bigger than that on a stock F150 in my mind...

Well here are some pics of the final change for now. The 325/65R18's just wouldn't fit. Way too much rubbing on the front bumper valance (and dangerously close to the bumper itself) and the mud flaps/rear of the fender. As it is, I had to chain back the mudflaps (still touch a bit on one side) and have to trim the front valance a bit. I ended up with 295/65R18 which are 33". I like the end result for now

Looks good. To add I've noticed some trucks with a leveling kit end up not being level and being higher in the front end, at least they appear that way. Not sure if it is just variance in springs from the factory or what.

I added 1" lift in the rear also. Hence the bum still being high, which I like as my truck is often loaded with tools and/or material. I have noticed that it looks different depending on the box length also...

I've seen different results in leveling kits on SCabs vs. SCrews and also different results from different brands of leveling kits..

If I was you and I wasn't planning on bigger tires I would only do a 1" level. It will take out some of the rake but not make the tires look to small. If you try to get your truck level and get rid of all of the rake the stock tires will look silly. Look at the pics below and you'll see what I mean.

The MPG loss from the leveling kit itself will be minimal. The real MPG loss comes from the larger tires most people add w/ the leveling kit.

Hey nasty, I noticed from these pics you also changed out your grill. I'm looking to do something similar on my 2011 lariet. Can u give me some insight on what you did or where I can order one like that? Appreciate the help. Thks, Dan

I swapped out my 2011 FX4 grill for a 2014 STX Sport grill and also added 2013 OEM HID headlights. Then I took the headlights and grill off the truck and sold them before I traded the truck in.
I paid $400 for the STX Sport grill from Tasca Parts during the 2013 Black Friday sale. It has gone up quite a bit since. GRILLE | Genuine Ford | EL3Z-8200-BPTM
