I recently put on a Volant CAI on my '04 5.4-3v. The engine idles lower than before and I get an occasional P0506 code. I plan on removing and cleaning the T/Body when I have a weekend off. Throttle body has some build up on it. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

I would get a new Throttle body gasket/oring - Most parts stores have to order them... My shop had it the next day.. it only cost $3... Others will say re-use it.. but for $3? Just swap it out for a new one
Pull throttle body, clean only with CRC Throttle body cleaner-others will take off special coating. Take off IAC if your truck has one-if it has a throttle cable it does-if it's drive by wire it won't. Disconnect the battery while doing this. Also you can get a can of CRD MAF sensor cleaner and do that as well. Should take care of it.
Thanks for replies, I was planning on taking off the T/ Body when I get off of 7/12s night shift. Already cleaned the MAS and I'll pick up some CRC T/B cleaner and oring
I would look deeper. Do a few searches around here it's my belief that the '04's don't have the flexability in the computer to adjust for all the extra air and I believe the only fix is custome tunes to bump up the fuel...

Finally got time to R+R throttle body this past Saturday. Lot of build up in and below it. Cleaned and replaced it. Runs great now. Thanks again for input.
