This post is coming from someonewho has already owned a 04 and an 06 Superduty with the wonderful 6.0 I tried to explain to the wife that the reason our truck stranded us in northern mich. (with Fifth Wheel) and why it was at the dealer so often was because they had a lot of problems with our motor (the 6.0) Well it worked. She agreed that we need a new truck. A 2011 F-350 Lariat w.the new 6.7 I assured her no more problems. Boy, was i wrong. Our $61,000 truck has around 15,000 miles and has been to the dealer a number of times. So far they had to pull the dash out to figure why i had no defrost, One of the batteries is leaking, they repainted it and told me to keep an eye on it, Another time i couldn't get the truck out of park and had to have it towed to the dealer, now it has an oil leak and is back to the dealer again. They are puting dye in to see where the leak is coming from. Dont get me wrong i have always been a Ford man and i love this truck when i have it and know that most people who own this truck have not had very many problems (just my luck). But its very upseting to pay this much for a truck and have all these problems. My Dealer has been wonderful through all of this. (Hines Park Ford). By the way, My 20 inch Michelins are cracking around the rims. Just thought i would throw that in. Craig
I feel you fustration , I had a 2008 6.4 cc f250 that stranded me 250 miles from home and had to let a dealer at that location fix it only to drive the 250 back to pick it up and break down 10 miles from that dealer for the same problems . three times I had to drive this before getting my truck home and then carry it to my local dealer to fix it .So I traded it in .
Now I have a 2011 f-350 cc that has been back in the shop 13 times for problems with motor, tran, shocks, death wobble, rear end, tires,. I usualy trade trucks every two to three years but I thinking hard about trying another brand ,may be the worse mistake I ever make but it can't be in the shop much than the last two I've had .
I certainly feel your frustrations guys...no one wants to spend the kind of money that you have spent and have issues with your trucks. I hope your luck turns soon.
I guess I have just been lucky, with all of the Fords I have owned & no major problems! With this 2011 I had a exhaust fluid sensor problem, they fixed that & otherwise all smooth sailing, I feel bad for you folks that keep being stranded, hope it all gets better for you.

How many miles do you have on your truck? Do you do a lot of heavy towing or hauling? That amount of problems sounds like a lemon. I'm sorry, I hope they fix this problem quick and I hope it is your last problem!
This isn't the first time I've heard of a new truck being a lemon. I really hope they get this taken care of soon!
If it makes you feel any better, all the manufacturers have issues from time to time. If you go to the Dodge and Chevy forums you'll find some similar stories. Not that this probably matters to you or anything, but something to think about.

Before you jump ship. I have had several Fords, I decided to try a change last time and went with a Dodge. Notice I am back in a Ford.
all makes put out lemons. my '06 dodge cost me 7 grand out of pocket to get it to 100 k miles. I kept thinking somehow everything was fixed and I would not have problems anymore. The issues with my '11 ford have been all 4x4 issues, grenaded the t case and now my hubs will not auto lock, other than that the truck has been great.
To those who replyed to this post. I do pull a 10,000 pound fifth wheel which is well below the tow rating for this truck and i bought the truck new and it has never been in any kind of accident. Just heard from my dealer today and its fairly good news. They told me that it was the vacuum pump gasket that was leaking. The gasket was in good shape but the bolts holding it together were loose. They let me back into the garage to show me. I was more upset to see my truck in pieces because i baby this thing. LOL

Maybe the Kentucky Truck plant hired those GM workers who were toking and drinking on their breaks Just kidding folks. I do wonder though if at times the people putting the trucks together get worked too hard on days, or the plant is having issues and things don't get put together right or someone missed a bad gasket etc. I could see one or two items bad but a string of issues seems to be the norm with the odd 6.7 that is in the shop a lot. I baby mine, she is spoiled rotten.
