Both of my trucks are CC but my red truck is only a two digit DSO.
My white truck is 6 digit DSO. I have the build sheet and window sticker. Other than possibly special tires there's not much else that jumps out as a cause for being special order. Maybe the overload springs??
6 digit DSO: Domestic Special Order. Something was installed on the truck that was not an RPO (Regular Production Order) after it left the assembly line.
Or, it was painted a non standard color per the original purchasers order (COLOR code on Warranty Plate blank).
DSO's code be special bodies, springs, upholstery, PTO, yadda yadda yadda.
Since there's no parts catalog reference for whatever was special and something failed, dealer contacts FoMoCo with 6 digit DSO.
They look up the order number, pass the info back to the dealer where the parts can be found, or pass the paint formula back.
