You are right Steve, I was a fine grading contractor for 25 years and always had my tractors equiped with Gannons.
Do you have a construction background yourself?
I've done concrete and masonry work for many years and sincerely appreciate a good operator, especially when it comes to grading; every bit of earth he can move for me means I don't have to shovel it

Steve.... I started out as landscaping laborer so I knew about how much work a good or bad operator could cost you on the job. So when I became an equipment operator, I always took pride in getting the grade as close as possible for the concrete, landscaping, fencing, masonry and many home builder contractors I worked for over the years.
Also I always admired the hard work and skill of you masonry and concrete contractors over the years. Amazing
Thank you Marc for the compliment and welcome.
Over the years I have driven and graded with tractors from Case, John Deere, Massy-Ferguson and Kubota. Some very good and strong, some OK and some I couldn't wait to get off of. Some were too big, some were too small but with the Ford series of tractor I owned (3400, 340A and 340B) they were just about the right size for the type of final grading I was doing and where I did most of my work. I had very few tractor breakdowns over the years, just a lot of flat tires and I did change a lot of blades and ripper teeth.
Randy
Interesting.
I want that size tractor for my place up north and I would much rather search out a Ford instead of going to the default John Deere.
It would be used for grading, mowing and light duty as I already have a Cat 446 backhoe and a John Deere bulldozer.
They have not made Ford tractors in years. But a mid 80's to the early 90's 340 series or the more powerful by 10 hp 540 series would do well for what you want. Also the heavier-duty 445 and 545 series if you need something just a little bigger.

Yup
I think that would work.
I love the old 8n's Sean and I plan to get one but a little more modern tractor would be cool first as it will work its tail off.
Randy's is perfect.
Again nice rig Randy.
Wouldn't mind seeing more pics of your truck AND your tractor ( as in more detail ).
Yes we are all Ford *****s.

Marc.. I can do more pictures of the truck. But in late 2006 I sold the tractor and trailer to another grading contractor and retired. I still miss the good old days of construction and that tractor especially.
