Cylinder Head ???'s

I read on a hot rod forum someone saying that 302 heads will work on a 351 wheezer if the headbolt holes are enlarged from 7/16" to 1/2".

Does anybody know if this is true?

somewhere around 77 or so, the 302 and 351W started using the same head castings.

This does indeed work, but pointless if it is a run of the mill factory head, as said, they are the same casting.

I've done it already, but it's been for a different head, not the run of the mill casting.

The only reason I could see doing this is for a set of E7TE heads or the early 289 castings, anything else would be almost pointless imo.

It is for aftermarket stuff. I was looking at these:

world products windsor jr. heads. fits 289, 302, 5.0 and 351w. complete with double valve springs and 1.7 roller rockers. $700 for the pair.

pg 3 of the link shows the specs:http://www.theengineshop.com/engineb...STINGGUIDE.pdf

Me like. Would be a lot easier than trying to make a set of OE heads work.

I had a set of the jr heads on the last 302 I built. They really like to rev.
What a fun motor it was.

If you are scrounging around for some heads to get your 351w going again, and stumble across some 302 heads, you can use them, or as in this case, some aftermarket heads on a 302.

One note on Ford heads. There is really no left or right head, until the factory opens the smog port on the back of the heads, then there becomes a left and a right(unless you plug the port). If you get the wrong head on the wrong side, you will suddenly find your smog pump ports on the front of the engine.

Well I am going to build another wheezer for my sons truck. I am trying to find the cheapest way to go with the performance build. I have access to 2 different blocks and both of them are .030 over right now. I have a crank or two that needs to be turned. I have other misc parts like connecting rods and maybe a performer and an E'brock carb.

I have a set of the factory smog heads ,but, they really limit the HP. I dont know how long my boy will be employed this summer so I am trying to get a go fast motor together for him as cheap as possible.

Those sold on Ebay.

There are more on Ebay, but not rebuilt. And by them time you rebuild a set of GT40s, you would have spent the cost of the World Jr's.

Plus the Jr's have smaller chambers than the GT40's for a nice little compression increase. 58cc vs 64cc.

Since noone else has asked, where did you find them at that price? $1200 a pair from Jegs or Summit... Without rockers....

I would jump on those heads, especially with rockers.
