Spark problem, or lack therof
I lost spark.
inspection of ign. system found:
9v in run 12v on crank (off coil posi. term.)
Coil to distributor wire is constintly powerd. (shouldn't it pulse when cranking?)
--replaced dist. w/pickup new no change.
swapped out Coil & module. with known good working ones. No change.
Ran through all my grounds and cleaned up
replaced ignition switch. nothing.
Basically what i have got now is a coil powering up proper, a constant supply from it to the distributor (odd, imho) but nothing coming FROM the distributor. YES the rotor is in. That end of it is all new.
I know enough of this system to know what to look for, But what really baffles me is the output of the coil, is steady. I belive(d) it supposed to pulse? So what controls that? the pickup…which is new, not reman.
Im stumped guys, any ideas would be awesome
Im 2 freakouts away from buying all new elec. components and hard wiring them all in with fresh new wires to eliminate any possibility.. LOL Thx Have a good night

LOL Thx Have a good nightpickup in dist, sends signal to module which sends signal to coil, on a DSII you should be able to connect a lead to the neg side of coil, or usually the orange wire to the dizzy, ground it, then see a spark or shock yourself when the wire is removed from ground? if you can then the problem is in the dizzy.
