Replace ECM or simply short wire?

Replace ECM or simply short wire?
Some of yall have been helping out with my truck...
88 F150 XLT 4X4 5.8 Auto.
Original problem is that it runs so rich, @ low fuel pressure, that it can fill the crankcase with fuel in a few minutes.
Can not get my fuel pump to stay on. Replaced relay and troubleshot everything.
Seems that the only way to get the fuel pump on and power/pressure up is to short the tan/green wire that goes to the relay and also goes to the test connector.
Can i just short that wire, or do i need to replace the ECM. It comes from port 22 on the ECM.

Essentially working thru almost everything regarding the fuel rail. I just bought the truck for a song.
My major find so far: low fuel pressure and now loss of power to the pump. The ECM on the truck is a reman. It looks brand new. The fuel pump is OE, but can hold 40+ pressure when i short the tan/green wire to relay.
The ECM was not mounted correctly and was likely giving me an intermittent ground problem. The injectors were likely firing improperly too.
Today, after work, i will short the wire and see how she runs.
