no, just because the flareside is a short bed, and you wouldnt have it centered on the frame right.

as long as its a long bed to fit your long-bed wheelbase, its all good.

Or you could cut 16" out of your frame... Don't get me started on that... I'm thinking about doing that to my F250, on top of the 22" that I already did...
But, any 80-96 box will bolt up, 87-96 should all match your body lines.
86 F250 HD XLT Lariat Explorer 4x4 ex. Extended Cab: 460/T19(syncroed granny low)/BW 1345/3.55 geared Full Floater 10.25 and Dana 50 TTB/ 265/75R16 Hankook FR04's on 16x8 Whitespokes(street tires... Need mudders)
78 F150, 351M/C6, eventually to be repowered with a 400
