My 92 F-350 staves for fuel whenever I drive it for more than 30 mins. I believe its a fuel pump issue. Ive recently chged the plugs, filter, and other minor things that might also cause this problem. If the fuel pump is the actual problem, where is it even located. Some help would be appreciated.
How do you know it starves for gas?
Fuel pump is in the tank but to really diagnose your problem you're gonna have to put a pressure gauge on it to see if you're really losing fuel pressure or not, and if not then the problem is electrical or ignition related.
I'll add that if it is starving for fuel, it could be that the fuel pump is clogged or the small, dime-sized diaphragm inside the pump may have lost it's seal. Both of these happened to me, on different occasions. Either way, replace it if it's bad. And for my truck, yours might be similar, it's easier for me to raise the bed than to lower the tank.
