Had my whole AC system done a year ago. Then this year stopped working. Had a leak in my manifold line so I replaced it. Then went and got a Leak down test and it passed it. Had it recharged worked great for two days and now I just get hot air again! What would cause this? I looked for leaks. Can you see one from the green dye? Any ideas on why it would fail again after 2 days?
samr thing happened to my 94. after all it was a faulty pressure switch. a-c would work ok for a few days and then it would quit, i figured a leak. there is a guy that specializes in a-c repair local to me and he diagnosed the problem. he added dye, checked for leaks replaced the pressure switch. only charged me $70 a-c blows ice-cold now. i don't even bother anymore i just take him all my a-c work, i just shake my head when he gives me a bill, he always treats me right.
Mine is building pressure and leaking out of the relief valve on the back of the compressor. What are the reasons that it would do this? Where is the pressure switch located?
The high pressure switch is on the back top of the compressor and the low presure switch is over on the passenger side. Mine quit and I replaced the high pressure switch and I'm good to go.

If you don't mind me asking... What did it cost you to have your ac system redone. I did one of those do it your self charges and it lasts a couple of weeks and slowly gets worse. So im sure I got a leak some where. Just wondering what it might cost to fix it.
it just depends if you find a good shop. my a-c guy has fixed so many a-c systems for me i can't even count. it depends what's all wrong, $$ can add up quick if you have to replace a compressor,condenser,accumulator/dryer etc.etc. one of the good things for us ford guys is our a-c systems are the most reilable and easiest to work on. good luck with getting cooled off all my vehicles have ice-cold a-c!!
It was around 400$. But that's having a cousin that's a service manager at ford and getting his cost on everything and 60$/hr shop rate. If I remember correctly a whole system is like 800$ to have a shop do it. If I didn't have the hook up I do, I would replace it all myself and then take it in to get charged.
