Gearhead tunes vs PHP tunes ?? your opinions

I recently (3 weeks ago) had my TS chip reburned with Matts tunes (Gearhead),well, not impressed. I chose Matt over PHP because of what I read on here. Already talked to Matt,he thinks my map is going bad,not going to throw parts at a good running truck. Most of the tunes are the same. I had to pull the 28' 5th wheel in the hot tune, neither of the tow tunes wouldn't stay in od. Ran the 1/4 mile in the last three tunes, ran 14.4-14.8. Did cure my shifting issues tho.

What I'm asking is-what are your experiences with Gearhead compared to PHP. That's where I'm going next. If PHP doesn't satisfy I will drop the dough and go DP.

Signed
Not impressed

I had DP for 2 years and just moved to Matt's tunes a couple of months ago, very happy with Matt's stuff. My opinion is that Matt's tunes run better in my truck than DP, I am also getting noticeably better mileage with the new chip. The shifting feels better and doesn't bang through the gears like my DP did. His customer service is great, and its really hard to beat lifetime free reburns. Plus no smoke which I love. I can't speak to PHP tunes as I have never had them.

Loved the DP in my Excursion, and Jody's service was the best. Just don't have the dough to buy the DP and tunes I want right at the moment. Heard good things about Gearhead and PHP.

Yeah PHP actually stopped reburns today IIRC, here is a quote from Corey.

To check the MAP sensor you need to view live data from the PCM.

Just put a PHP FU chip in my truck a couple weeks ago. I'm very happy with it! I had a small issue with kind of a strange shift at WOT but Bill is taking care of that for me. Being able to change what tunes are on my chip anytime I want is great also. I've heard great things about Gearhead tunes and believe I would try to work out my issues with them before jumping to somthing else.

I just don't like how it acts. If someone would of told me it acts like a stock truck until ya get into it. I wouldn't of went that option. I didn't add all my aftermarket to drive a stock truck unless I'm railing on it. It's dangerous to pass when its wet out, sideways at 65 is fun for me,but my woman frowns on it.
Guess I will start saving for a DP.

I have DP and love it.That said, alot of guys moved to PHP because of heavy towing and love the tunes and don't worry about EGT's as they did before. One I know tows 18K with his 550. Good luck and tell us what you do when you figure it out.

This is what a lot of people like vs. DP having full use of the pedal. It takes a little different style of driving since all the fuel is not demanded at once(I'm not a tuner so that may not be completely accurate, but that's how it feels) and then not really have anything extra above 1/2 pedal.
