I just bought my first diesel truck traded a 150 for a 2006 F250 105.000 miles on it. this weekend i will change the oil and the fuel filters. what do i need to do to make it bullit prof. i heared that i need a egr delete kit oil cooler and head bolts. can i do the egr delete without pulling the cab off? if i do that will that help a little bit? also what brands are good for those parts? One last question what is that hook looking thing on the dash next to the passenger feet? thanks
I think the hook you are talking about is to hang a small trashbag.
Since it's at 105k already, I think you'll be just fine. If you really want to though... This website has a whole list of upgrades you can do: 6.0L Power Stroke Fixes
I can't recommend any parts specifically as our 6.0 is well over 100k and bone stock. There really is nothing more important than regular maintenance (fuel/air filters, tranny/differential/engine oil, coolant) and good fuel. One problem area for us was the coolant resovoir, it has a tendency to crack and leak depending on the environment you live in.
