Smog pump system question

Does anyone know what contols the vacumn to the divertor valve and valve right after the smog pump,it always sounded like the smog pump was venting the air instead of running it through the system hot or cold so I disconnected the line to the valve right after the pump and now the annoying sound is gone and air is flowing. So what ever is supposed to control the vacumn is not working and giving the valve constant vacumn instead of shutting off and I have no manuals on this truck which is a 88 bronco with a 302,from what I can remember about this system is the air is supposed to go into the heads to warm up and then to the cats when warmed up so for now I would like the air to go to the cats only so do I need to disconnect the line to the divertor valve too since what ever controls the vacumn to the one valve does the same to the divertor valve too.

I got it figured out and it works basicly the same as my 87 except for the valve that controls the air flow, the divertor valve works the same and it gets vacumn when cold and the solenoid that controls it is working and it is the solenoid that controls the valve at the pump which is bad and will leave bypassed for now and will have air flowing constantly through the system until I fix it
