While that's a cool mod, my modified version of the Zoodad mod seems more worthwhile. Maybe you should do both! The opening in the the front of the air cleaner is able to move more air than the truck can ingest at WOT.
The Gotts mod is only going to make the tube that extends in there a little larger in diameter. It's still a cool mod, though. (I just like doing mods)
My version of the Zoodad makes that driver's side part of the grill functional. I don't know what kind of "crap" could make the two 90* turns into the air box snorkel but I'm sure there could possibly be an increase of something.
How it improves the original Zoodad mod (IMHO) is it prevents water ingestion into the filter. The Zoodad has a greater chance of allowing water in versus my version.
I noticed that it allowed the intake air temps to go back to ambient FASTER after I left a stoplight. Plus, it was fun drilling holes...
yeah my main concern is water. Where you drilled the holes, how does air "ram" in there? Or is it just meant to suck in cooler air from outside not really have a ram air effect?
