Hi all, just wanted to share some upgrades that i am doing this spring,
Installing some new shocks and springs, ball joints, 11" rotors and larger calipers. Now with the larger rotors my 14" front mags don't fit so im looking for some 15".
Also got some 2010 equinox front buckets and put them in, i now have power seats. These required a little mounting modification and the removal of the gas tank from the cab, which needed to be done anyway.
So far everything went good, have to bend and remount the front brake lines to make the new SS lines fit right.
Also have new electronic distributor that i am going to intall but one thing at a time, that one i am going to have to bring in a mechanic because i have no idea how to do that.
Thanks for looking.
You had the gas tank in the cab? I'm not that knowledgeable on restorations, but that screams HAZARD to me...
Neat mods tho, how much did that braking system run ya? I was looking into improving the brakes on my mustang, but to the tune of 2g, I think it stops just fine!!
Yes the gas tank on these are originaly in the cab behind the bench seat, smelt like gas sometimes, i guess in the old days they didn't think this was a bad thing. So i took it out, flipped it around and mounted in the bed of the truck.
The front brakes were alot of reserch and just how much you want to spend is pretty much the sky's the limit, i am always looking at how much my wife would be comfortable for me to spend and go from there LOL i spent around $600-700 for the brake system, the calipers are GM metric syle used on 85 and up Camero's so there easy to pick up at the local parts places.
