Bypass Oil Filter

Has anyone added one of these? Is it really necessary?

I personally wouldn't waste my money, however, your truck, you have to do what makes you comfy.

Say what? The stock oil filter works fine, to the point where accidentally bypassing it with an incorrect cap/filter combo can nuke the HPO system. If the stock filter "does not have a lot of use" why does using the correct filter seem the be the difference between a running truck and torn HPO screens/ blown IPR valves? The only problem with the stock filter seems to be people fromusing nonconforming consumable replacements.

I understand, but wasting money does not make me feel fuzzy inside, lol. I figure a lot of stuff you hear about is just companies trying to sell their parts.

This is what prompted me to ask this question, I have never heard anything about the stock oil filter being insufficient. UNless you use another brand of course...
