If you find someone with any old ford parts on craigslist I almost guarantee you they either have more or know someone that does. LOL... its like a network. Just gotta start asking around. And if you have the cash to buy a few things, word gets around fast that youre looking and eventually people start calling you. My experience suggests thats a bad place to be, cause then youre in the position where you feel like you gotta buy everything to save it. I saved a ton of stuff for a few years then moved to a smaller place and sold or traded what I could but eventually had to send a few things I'd have rather kept to the scrapper.
should be called "The world's worst bobcat operator, along with a dose of hindsight is 20/20," or maybe, "Why you should always pack your vehicle with scrap only after its already ON the trailer."

yeah I've been hoarding part's since I was 14 and for a while their we would move from place to place about once a year. every time we moved I tossed more and more into the scrap pile or trash. now that I've been lucky enough to be in the same place for a coupl eyears with a 2.5 stall garage I've been building my stock pile back up. I tend to like doing package deal's with people on part's & I don't get to greedy on most part's unless I don't really want to sell them or know their a hard to find part that I just mite need 2 week's after I sell it. (like a tilt steering colum)
I am looking for a complete set of race track trim for a short box if anyone come's across anything good. I have most of the trim the ride's in the dent for the door's and fender's but I have no short box "box" trim at all.
well if ya see something good feel free to let me know I'm in S/E Nebraska so most likely your within driving distance for me and or I have some cusin's in central Missouri that I mite be able to talk into picking up parts for me
Just sold my short bed with twin tank flaps and complete race track and dent chrome.....I am always on the look out for more.
I hoard complete part trucks, I hat being in the middle of a project and have a small part needed hold me up.
yeah, well, thats me right now. moved in the middle of a build and scrapped 2 frames, didn't have titled to either, one was rusted in half the other was a (somewhat rare) sc sb, but it was 2wd and I had no interest in it.
And now I pulled my flatbed off to fix everything up and paint the frame and put in new brake lines and a new axle, and I find out one of my rear spring mounts is rusted through, and I had a few replacements but I know I scrapped at least 2 of them, and now I can't find one and no idea where the hell it is. frustrating. plus I still have a box full of parts at my dads house 4 hours away, so I'm like, should I buy a new one, or try to torch one at the junkyard, or wait until I head out to my dads again. ugh. And I'm in the middle of a project and just wanna paint the frame and get these mounts on so the truck is mobile again. I live in a development so I try to do like 2-3 day projects with the truck in the yard so I don't get in trouble with HOA for having non operational vehicle. I also had one good frame crossmember on that sc frame, and of course I never thought to pull it, and now mine is rusted out and thats a difficult part to find unless I buy a whole frame.
Now is the time to have a real good friend that lives alot closer than your dad and has the space to store and work on your stuff.
I live out in the country, and will forever, so I do not have to worry about the HOA just the "BOSS", she says as long as its all on the other side of the back yard fence its ok.

1973/79 F100/350: The upper side mouldings used on the fenders, doors, cab corners with black vinyl inserts are the same as used with Race Tracks. 1978/79 Bronco's w/black vinyl inserts use these same fender and door mouldings.
The upper bed mouldings w/the black vinyl inserts are specific to Race Tracks, have curved ends where the R/L vertical mouldings attach that connect to the lower Race Track mouldings.
The same vertical mouldings were also used on Bronco's with Race Tracks.
D7TZ-9929038-FA .. Right & D7TZ-9929039-FA Left .. Upper Race Track Bed Mouldings-Use with 6 3/4' short bed.
Carpenter has repro'd all the Race Tracks, sells these short bed mouldings for $140.00 each side (prices from DC's 2011 paper edition of his 1967/79 truck repro parts catalog).

I have all the trim from the cab forward to the grill just no trim at all for the box. I have some long box trim but not a single short box piece and for tailgate trim all I have that's in good shape is the F O R D panel that goes across the middle

I forgot to mention that AUBURN MOTOR SALES in Auburn IN (260-925-3100) has the right (D7TZ-9929038-FA) upper bed moulding, but it may be used, not NOS.
A while back a pal a mine was looking for a 1973/79 Styleside tailgate, they had one, but when I called and asked, they said it was used, had surface rust and they wanted 500 bucks for it!
The thing is, if you buy just the repro mouldings that you need from Carpenter, their shiny anodizing won't match the mouldings you have now, as the anodizing has prolly faded.
Here's a guy named Eric in Arkansas, he has some 80 trucks, not all what we want though. I talked to him this morning and he said he has some clean boxes for Fords. One with the tool box. His number is 870-931-1042.

Yeah either have to go all new or all used. $500 for a tailgate is a little out their IMO but to each their own I guess. thanks for the info if I can't find a couple good used piece's I'll have to go with all new but I have plenty of time to think it over. I'm in no hurry putting my truck back together this time
