I received my build sheet from Ford today for my 1975 F100 .
The main reason for getting the build sheet is so that I can restore the truck to the way it was from the factory .
The color of the truck is "Dark Ginger Metallic"
I am guessing that a rough translation is "blue"-that is the color of the truck now .
Is this correct?
No- Dark Ginger Metallic is a dark brown, definitely not blue. One of two things has happened: (1) the truck was repainted at some time after it left the plant. If it was, you should be able to find evidence of it somewhere: look up under the dash, or inside the doors (if you can). (2) You gave Ford the wrong paint code. Double-check the code if you can't find any evidence of the brown paint.
The thing is I didnt give ford a paint code.
I only gave them the vin-I went out and checked the vin on the truck to make sure I gave them the correct number and it is the same . The paint code on the vin tag is "F"
Good to know about the paint though
The interior is also ginger . The entire truck is blue including the old ripped up bench seat .
