1978 F350 SC camper special. I have 33x12.5's on 16.5 aftermarket wheels (came with the truck) front tires rub on sway bar. Really like the wheels and tires so looking at wheel spacers. Question is anybody use this solution? if so how thick did you go with spacers? or any other ideas?
Second part of question is looking to lift the front approx. 2" I have air helpers on the back so I can adjust for load but want the front level with no load. Spring spacers? Air helpers up front?
Just removed the rusted second battery tray and thinking what a great place for an onboard compressor to run air all around! Good? Bad? Ugly?

Um.... Why don't ya just measure it and find out?
These rigs were built with a slight rake - one to two inches.
I'd rather have the auxiliary battery installed and in the OEM location and mount the compressor elsewhere. It's not like there is a lack of real estate under the hood.
Be glad to meaasure it if I new how and measure what? remove the wheel and turn to stop then measure clearance? Take the sway bar off and measure ful turn?
Probably agree with the aux battery comment would be nice to have it OEM just thinking out loud.......... not tight but not Texas size under there either with the 460 / AC / smog stuff
The rake if I measured it correctly is very close to 2" so looking to raise the front that amount. What about traller springs?

Got chalk? Place a plumb string line against the sway bar and mark multiple points on the ground. Now remove the sway bar and do the same with the inside face of the tire where it currently makes contact. The difference will be the minimum dimnsion spacer that you need.

That'll throw off your alignment and result in postive camber...bad for your tires. To do it right, all suspension points would need to move down a corresponding distance (two inches) to maintain proper geometry.
