im in the middle of doing head studs in my 2004 6.0. i did the driver side no problems now im on the passenger side. do i need to take out the evaporator box to do the studs or is there another way to do it?

That's the preferred method since your doing the work cab on. I've heard of guys pulling the left/driver's side engine mount and allow the engine to rotate a little. Not sure if you've tried that yet.
Pulling the hvac box is the only way to go if Doug cab IMHO. Pretty simple remove the inner wheel well, then there is 6 nuts on the inside of the cab (behind the glove box) that's hold the box on. It may take you a min to find them all but they are there.
