Black smoke???
Yesterday my truck started acting up, bouncing idle and black smoke. when stopped she wants to stall. ive checked the Fuel pressure reguator, and fuel filter. the part that gets me is it ran fine for the long drive(40 miles) that night, then in the morning she didnt want to act right. ANy Ideas?????

When you say you checked the FPR, did you check for a leaking diaphragm? I would also pull the codes to see if the ECU is picking up a bad O2 senser. Also check the O2 wiring, it is common for the wires to get burned.

Where exactly is the O2 sensor located? i have my truck garaged so i can attempt to fix it. Btw it doesnt usually start blowing black smoke till after it warms up.

Since your in the BII forum I would expect you to have a 2.9L in it but I don't see a BII listed in your signature. On a 2.9L it should be on the passengers side exhaust just after it drops down from the manifold, top side of the pipe. Since it happens after is gets warm I would suspect a sensor problem since that is when it goes into closed loop. Try pulling the codes, both key on engine off and key on engine on, they should point you to the problem.
