The IPR Controls the pressure to the injectors. Old oil will cause it to stick and not operate properly.

when your truck warms up, the IPR can move easier and thus why its smoothing out idle.
where is the ipr located?

You have bad injectors I know you don't want to hear that.

Pull the solenoids and I bet you have 3-4 injectors that you can't get a .002 feeler gauge under the armature plate.

I just went through this. That's why I rebuilt my stageI's tow stageII's

The IPR is in the back side of the HPOP at the bottom on the driver side

What Mike said

its number 11 and there is a wiring pin connection sitting on top of the barrel (solenoid) Its a little difficult to see. From over head.

You would be better off having all 8 rebuilt cause it won't be long before the rest go.

but for a poor man living on paycheck to pay check can i get a way with just the three bad ones then other one later i got three given to me

Talk to Jim at rosewood diesel he can probably rebuild all yours for what you would pay for 3 new ones
