Hey Guys new to FTE any help would be appreciated. Got two trucks with the same problem. After roughly 15 min headlights start flickering on and off? Any solution ideas?
Power to the headlights goes through the headlight switch and is kicking on (and off) the headlight relay.
One solution is to simply replace the headlight switch... BUT a better solution is to install relays sourcing voltage directly from the battery and use the headlight switch signal to energize the relays.
You can buy or build a harness. LMC has 'em for $30 or here's a wiring diagram:
Unless the rig is all rusty and some wires are rubbing through to ground. This harness may cure it if the problem is there. But it could be anywhere on the truck. Just saying.

Yessiree Arctic.....I am working under the assumption that the OP has done some troubleshooting like checking for damaged wiring.
But if the OP simply posted a question in this here FTE without doing a modicum of homework, then that would simply be super lame.
I do like the idea of the relays, think i will do it with both rides. Sounds like a sure bet. replaced dimmer switch and head light switch on bronco when i changed harness, wish it would of been that simple.thanks to you both, i am grateful, check out my rides and let me know what you think, again grasias!
