I have a 87 f-250 with 6.9 and it overheated and now it turns overreally slow and will not start. I replaced the starter and ground cables and even loosened the belts and still nothing.. any ideas?? I would sure appreciate it..
I was affraid of something like that really.. the gauge doesn't work right. Iy didnt even say it was hot.. it did die on its oen though.. i tried to pull start it and the ground wire was smoking so i thought that was it.. ill try the bar after lunch and let y'all know..

spend the few bucks on a real temp gauge for the replacement engine,so you can shut her down and let it sit if need be,and or push,tow,drive a bit then stop and let cool,whatever it takes to avoid going past 240 for any length of time until you can fix the issue.gauges are cheaper than engines.
not trying to pour salt on a wound.just helping for the next time.good thing is,used idi's can be found fairly cheap.500$ or less generally.
