Hey Rich. When you talk torque what exactly are you asking? There's only 1 bolt and the one nut that hold the ball joint to the linkage. The ball joint end looks like it has a shoulder that will go up against the linkage so I guessing that you would just tighten it up. The bolt end is just a bolt so give 'er a rip. I don't know the answer yet because my Bilstein 5100 won't get here till this friday.

I love my 51's. Can't wait for the stabilizer. My Bilstein supplier in San Diego won't have them till the end of June so I ordered one for Xtreme Diesels in New Jersey. I hope they have them, will find out tuesday if it ships.

Finished the install on all, shocks and steering stabilizer went in w/ no problems.OEM shocks were total junk with only 7660 miles.compressed them one at a time after i took them off , both fronts never moved.one rear never moved, the other only open about 2.5in. steering stabilizer only opened about 2in. Took a nice ride to a few stores after dinner.Felt a lot less wheel bounce especially on the front end. Steering felt alot tighter, overall im very happy. I'm sorry I waited that long to replace them.

i use handtools as much as able and air tools as little as possible. this gives me a good indication of how tight things are before i take them apart thus how tight they should be going back together. when critical i use a torque wrench, but with automotive stuff, its often not very critical. compared to aviation at least. monkey tight is so freakin tight only a monkey could have torqued it. and thats how tight the steering stab was from the factory.

couldn't agree with you more, I put 4600's on my 06 dually "yellow&blue" and thought that was great, and these are supposed to be better.

I am taking leave this coming weekend and driving to AZ then on to Iowa, I ordered the Bilstein Stabilizer and had it shipped to Iowa where I will install it when I arrive. Then I will drive back to El Paso and be able to compare the two stabilizers after a long drive. I hope that it improves the steering as it has for all of you that have installed one.

Thank you for all of your input Tux, this is my first SD truck so I was not familiar with it's steering characteristics. But after 1800 miles of driving my truck I can say that I am not a fan of the lack of "feel" in the steering and how it seems to hop around. I am looking forward to this upgrade and with everyones comments I am really excited.

Thanks again for all of the great reviews and comments on FTE.
