Was doing my rear brakes today, finished one side and went to do the other and noticed that the bolts holding the axle shaft in were all loose. I went to turn one bolt and it fell out...so did the next one...and the next...
They had all sheared off, and i was able to pull the axle shaft out by giving it a few good pulls. Hoping a screw extractor will be able to get them out. Im just glad it didn't work its way out while i was driving. Not sure what caused them to do that.
Left handed drill bit. Doubt they are in there tight. I sheared mine on my idi. The bit will take a good bite and spin em right out. I put grade 8 and lock washers with serviceable loctite to replace em.
Ya that happened to my truck too. I thought a couple rocks had got in my center cap some how and was rolling around. So i took the tire off and found the bolts sheared off. I was able to screw the broken bolts out with a lil screw driver. I also replaced them with grade 8 bolts.
