Airbag code 74

Airbag code 74
'03 E250, 4.2L, and the airbag light is flashing out code 74 for about a minute every time I start the van, then the light stays on solid. I see that the code means there is a short or voltage is too low, but where do I start? I've never messed with airbags before, so I want to check here to see if there's something simple I should be looking at, or if there are precautions to take so I don't get punched in the face with it while trying to fix it.
