Think I want to stay with the 355 after all the replies. The lock pic looks like a good buy to me.

The one that I am looking at is missing steps and my wife wants steps heck I want steps. Makes it easier to wash too. Looks like steps (non-lighted) is about 350.00

So right now the msrp was 46215 with 14815 in options total was 62025.00 and drive out after taxes and all is 55821.00

So I am still stirring the pot. Its not local either. Quite a drive. But at least its not a plane ride. lol

Thanks
I have the 3.31 in mine.. amazing power.. still need a long highway drive towing and not to see what the results are.. 18ish empty looks like.. 20ish if I can stand driving 66.

towing my 7000lb show car & trailer I'm seeing 11.5 so far ( no long drive yet)

Hmmmmmm

.24 difference is not too much

I guess the issue is that I am use to my old school truck with the 7.3 and the E4OD so I am a little leary.

I do see a lot of DRW's with 3.73's I wonder why.

Guess its what you buy it for is the only thing I can think of; the DRW folks probably tow more -- could be the logic. DUNNO

Well the 7.3 has lasted me 16 yrs so far so if I can get that out of a new one that would be nice. How much of a pain is the additive?

3.55 in mine. . No problem towing. Definitely would recommend 350 over 250. We get 12.5. - 13 towing. Never feels like it is lugging. I would need to help the rpms up a little bit on my 7.3 to prevent it from lugging

so, net, Ford compensated the gearing with a tranny and engine changes. the better gearing adds the the improved mileage, while the low end torque gets things moving.

Yep thats what I noticed as well.

The only other things I did notice its the heavier the truck the less weight.

Then the difference in the 4x2 and the 4x4

Not to sure why those two are different.

[EDIT ADD ON]
Thats only different on the gas engines, must be torque related

The DEF additive is no big deal. Every 5000 miles or so add 5 gallons.
It's like checking your oil or windshield fluid.

Myself, I usually add 2.5 gallons when ever I get below 1/2 tank.
For me is about once a month

Every autoparts store, truck stop, Walmart has the stuff so it's not hard to find.

the second axle, driveshaft, hubs, etc.. all add to the tow vehicle weight, thus lower trailer capacity

Update
Well I am hitting them up for some step runner boards and install for free and then see what happens after that.

I took the one offer and hit two other dealers to beat it. so we will see what happens.
Its dumbfounding that they still try the salesman slip up think on me. Like well are you sure you want that. Or well this one doe have this and that one has----

I just tell them you see what this list has on it. Yes sir
Okay you match that and have a lower price and we can talk other than that you compare my itemized list to yours and highlight the differences and make suggested changes to the price.

I am to old for the games any more and I do realize that they are taught to play them to get a edge on profit. wonder what would happen if I told them sell if for this and heres 300 under the counter. hmmmm I may have to try that. Especially if it saves me a grand.

Thanks for allowing me to blab here. lol see you all later and thanks again for the info.
