It began yesterday. It worked all day just fine then wouldn't start after a quick stop into a bookstore. Not even cranking over. AAA towed me home after 2 hours. I charged both batteries to full overnight and replaced the starter. Now it cranks just fine but will not start at all. After some searching here I replaced the CPS hoping for the best. It's still he same.
I do get the WTS light, RPM's and oil pressure are present during cranking but I get no smoke at all. Oil level is ok in pan and HPOP too.
I do have an AE but get no codes. Is there a specific reading it would give me that would give me some insight?
Any help is appreciated. This is the truck that runs my business and I need to get back to it ASAP! It is also my first diesel. I'll never go back I I can help it.
The ICP is over 700 while cranking. The duty cycle is around 15%. The voltage is under 10. I hooked up my battery charger and set it to jump start mode. I still only get 7 or 8 volts. Is there a regulator that is bad? I am noticing a clicking while starting. It sounds like something is not receiving what it needs to turn over.
Driving my dad's F-150 for now, it feels like I'm driving a Civic by comparison.
Jump start mode might not be able to deliver enough current, depending on your battery charger. First make sure all of your cables are clean and tight, then fully charge both batteries. If you are still seeing less than 10.5V while cranking, disconnect the batteries and have them individually load tested. If one is bad replace the pair.
