Let me explain: My '01 XLS with the six cylinder engine, 4x4, and automatic transmission has 102,000 miles on it.
The last several months I have noticed that when the transmission downshifts when going up a hill at highway speeds then upshifts the vehicle seems to want to yaw to the right. It is subtle, but I find myself correcting to the left when it happens.Seems as if something causes it to want to move to the right when it upshifts around 3000 RPM and the RPMs drop to 2000.
yeah my guess would be motor/trans mount is it doesnt wander or pull and steering system is tight, you can get some one to sit in car and start it and put in gear and torque it (rev) and see it the motor or trans move alot, you should be able to see even the untrained eye can say hey that looks like its moving to much, then just a matter of watching each mount where possible under the same circumstances
