Climbing spikes
I want to get a set of climbing spikes and a friend of a friend has a set he would sell but he knows nothing about them. I've been told there are two different kinds, tree and pole. I know nothing about them either so anyone know the difference if there really is one ?

Why are you buying them, it sounds as though you are not in the tree/forestry industry. These are very dangerous even when properly trained. I would hate to see someone buy them to save a few bucks on tree work and end up getting hurt, or worse

Do your homework on how to use them properly. Band Aids aren't used on the type of injuries you get falling out of a tree holding onto a chain saw. Not trying to talk you out of them just know that mulligans and tree work don't go together.
