Pinstripe ideas
so i layed out some quick pin stripe ideas for my dent.
the idea would be two 1/4" pinstipes surrounding the scallop 1/4" spacing from the scallop. the pinstripe and scallop would be painted sterling grey from a modern ford.
The scheme would be similar to the explorer paint, but reversed, so to say.
Then i thought a pinstripe that mimics the racetrack trim might be kinda neat:
Honest opinions welcome. (except on my crooked pinsripes
i litterally did the whole thing in 20minutes, and it was cheap tape that doesnt bend at all)I'm kinda thinking the racetrack stripe gets a little busy, but i'm on the fence.
The upper tape line is is fighting with the hood/fender and cowl/fender gap. In fact it actually accentuates the common misalignmnets with these rigs of the hood, cowl, and fender. They gotta be spot-on if going that route. I suggest putting both lines inside the dent.
The racetrack-esque lines are busy - at least with that color combo. A more subtle color, with less contrast, could provide the accent without appearing harsh.
i'll try putting some stripes inside the dent ... hadn't thought of that.
i didn't like the mis-alignment at the hood/cowl/fender and at the spare tire door cover.... both make it look kinda sloppy the way i have it now.
good idea ! thanks!!
