My 1998 expedition XLT brakes failed this evening when my
daugther was driving it home, lucky she was near an advance auto shop.
they look at it and said it the brake line near the ABS module, they said it was rusted out. Do anyone know which brake line it is, The guy at the auto store said they dont carry them cause the line have a bend in it & the ones they carry is straight. He said I may have to get it from the dealership.
I'm afriad you'll have to open the hood and check it out. There are two short brake lines that go from the master cylinder to the ABS module, just six inches or so away. These two have braided flex lines on the end of short steel lines, and will almost certainly have to be special ordered if it's one of them.
Out of the ABS unit you then have three steel lines. Two go to the front brakes, and one heads back along the driver's side frame to the rear wheels. You're going to have to have a look and see which has popped. Should be obvious. If not, have someone gently press the pedal while you look for a leak. Wear eye protection for this!! Brake fluid will pretty much blind you.
