I recently had both the front hub on my truck replaced with a MOOG HUB (part # 515020) . It came with a new ABS sensor wire in the hub .
Since then , I have had to make 2 " PANIC " stops . The brake peddle goes almost to the floor and I thought I would not be able to stop in time without hitting the car in front of me !! but luckily I did .
I'm wondering if I should change the ABS wire in the hub to the old one and see if that would fix it .
What do you think ?? And has anyone heard about any problems with the wire itself from the hub ??
Thank-you for your thoughts !!
I also changed the 4 caliper bleeder screws with "SPEED BLEEDERS" and pumped a fresh new Gallon of brake fluid through the system . Perhaps I should do some more bleeding of the brakes but normal braking is good !
I would think if there was a problem with the sensor, or wiring, you would get a code set for the fault. I would try a little more bleeding. I have been in the panic stop situation myself. It is definitely not a fun feeling.
When I told my wife about the panic stops and the low brake peddle , she said I had better get it fixed before I start hauling our 26ft trailer around .
Funny though that the ABS idiot light didn't come on so I thought there was no problem with th ABS sensor .
