I just got my 1990 F350 4x4 on the road after a lot of little things wrong like injector pump being bad, charging system not charging, etc. Fuel mileage is right with my Powerstroke. However a guy was telling me there is a certain model Bronco rear fuel Tank & sending unit you can get that will bolt right to my frame. Any idea which year would work? I am assuming around a 1983 Bronco? Thanks. Any and all input appreciated.
Pump mounts on engine on idi. Sensing unit I need to bw accurate with my gauge. I just want to be sure I get the right one. I also need to be able to use my Hitch. Is the 88 Bronco a 38 gallon?
99 & later midframe tanks are 38. I need an after axle tank with a rear sending unit that will work right with my truck. This is supposedly a common conversation. Has nobody here down this with their F350 trucks? I am looking for facts; not guesses and assumptions. Thanks
99 and 90 trucks are 2 different things. Bronco tanks are REAR tanks NOT midframe tanks. SO, i'm not guessing or assuming. You posted about a 90 F 350, i'm telling you about 86-96 trucks.
Do you know what a 99 truck looks like ?
If you want to be sarcastic post somewhere else. I did not bring a 38 gallon into the conversation. I merely stated 38 gallon tanks are 99 and later Super Duty trucks. I know Bronco tanks are after-axle tanks for 1978 and later Bronco. Yes I know what a 99 and newer Super Duty is. I have one. I build these trucks for a living. Once again if you can't be helpful stay off my post. I know a 90 Bronco tank will be compatible with my frame. I am trying to make sure the sending unit is also compatible with my truck from a 90 Bronco. I think I would need a pre1985 sending unit. This is what I need input about.
38's are listed for 86-89 F series. And if you build these trucks for a living, you should know this. And your stock sending unit works with a 38g tank.

Yes I build these for a living. We did not build a 87-91 F150-350 with a 38 gallon tank. The cab chassis model had a bigger fuel tank, but it was the Heavy Duty series with the longer frames and the linger wheel base. I buy a lot of after market parts from Rock Auto. If you have information I welcome it. However when you act like a jackass you can keep your information. I don't the attitude.
The same year (as your truck) Bronco tank will fit in your truck.Make sure you know the dia. of the sending unit opening and get the pick-up to match.I did this on my '88 f250 to eliminate the side tank for true dual exhaust.Bronco Graveyard sells a 33 gal polyethelene tank for a little more than a steel tank. They also have the matching sending units(one from a 1990).Had one on my Bronco for 9 years without issues, very durable.Sold the Bronco.I had a four prong connector on my sending unit for the '88.
This 38 gallon tank from Rock Auto looks like it will work. It has the right dimensions for my frame. I just hope it isn't so deep I have hitch issues. My truck is a 1990 F350 crew cab idi, and we were able to run 3" true duals with one chamber flow masters and stainless tips. We had plenty of room to leave the midship tank in as well.
