Installed hellwig sway bar

Just installed hellwig sway bar on 2005 ex,, anybody else find out that the rear shock mounts had to be drilled out for hellwigs 1/2" ubolts , stock ubolts on mine were 3/8" pretty cheap for a 3/4 ton truck,,,

When I installed the Hellwig on my 2000 Ex I didn't have to drill out the shock mounts. Not sure if they were 1/2" or 3/8" though.

Maybe by 2005 they ran out of parts and put an expedition or explorer mount in mine,, the stock u bolt was the thickness of a muffler clamp, glad I used the hellwig sway bar just to update to a heavier u bolt for the shock,

just installed mine last week. Didn't have to do any drilling, mounted right up for me, mines the 2001 2WD. Just put my Rancho 9000's on today as well, nice addition, can't wait to hook up the Travel Trailer and see if there's towing improvements!

I remember the factory bolts being pretty sissy looking compared to the Helwigs, but I don't think I had to drill. I think I do remember from the posts I read a few years ago some had to and some didn't though.

I also had to drill the shock mounts on my 2005 Ex when I installed my Hellwig.

What the part number/diameter are you using? Their web site has a few different diameters ranging from 1 1/2", 1 3/4", and 1 5/16".
