ive got a big decision to make and id like to have some of yalls input.. ive got a a nice clean 1997 f250 powerstroke but its a 2wd but here recently i acquired a 1990 f350 crewcab 4x4 zf 5spd with a thrashed 7.3idi but the body and interior are flawless and it also has a gear vendors on it. i dont really want to go back with an idi due to lack of power and i hate to spend 2 grand on a turbo so i looked into swapping in the powerstroke but ive found that its a wiring nightmare to make it work so i looked into a 12 valve cummins swap but its $3200 for the kit minus the engine and i hate to have 7 or 8 grand wrapped up into that swap although it would be the ultimate swap.... but i ran into another post where a few guys have turned their 2wd f250's and f350's into 4wds with donor trucks and they claim its a pretty straight forward swap with all the parts which i have so what do you guys think?? any input would be appreciated
thats what i think id like to do...i believe the powerstroke truck would be alot more desireable as a 4x4 even just being an extended cab than the crewcab lol i was reading up on midwest duallys conversion and he recommended a reverse shakle kit and it makes the it alot easier to mount the springs on the front and from what i understand you dont have to notch your frame rails either someone correct me if im wrong!
