Roof rack

I plan on using the factory roof rack a lot in the near future and was wondering if any of you guys that have removed the headliner noticed if the roof rack is reinforced on the inside pretty good, I plan on putting a canoe on top and I know it will hold the weight but was wondering if it's safe to torque down hard on the tie downs with ratchet straps where it won't pull the screws thru the roof, thanks in advance for any input, Paul

Your canoe will be just fine up there. The only problem is they have the cross rails too close for ratchet straps. I installed spacers & used unistrut bolt onto the existing rails(the original rail sliding part broke).
