97 purge issue
Check engine light stays on, I think the code was something with the purge. One dealer tech (who loaned me the scanner) said it was a problem with the system design. But recently I hear some chirping near the front left when it's idling and then the idle flares. Purge valve maybe? Any suggestions on trouble shooting?

It's somewhat rigid line that runs from the front of the intake manifold to the canister. It has a solenoid valve in the line to enable purging. It seems to be prone to cracking, so check the line from that solenoid valve to the canister for cracks or breaks.
