ball-joint mix up

when installing upper and lower ball joints on a 78 f-150 4x4, what one do you install first. i heard there is some sort'a sequence.

They both sorta go in together

Press the upper one in first! the tool used most is much like a C-clamp, pressing the upper in first the clamp goes through the lower hole. It should become obvious once started.

Laughing out loud!!!. I shouldnt post when I am tired. I was thinking about the knuckle being mounted back on the axle.

Yeah I figured that! I'm sure he means which one to press in the knuckle first.

Advance Auto Parts has a nice tool in there loan a tool program, I got Spicer ball joints from JBG and pressed them in at Advanced, they didn't mind, they even let me use their vise in the store so no tool deposit.

yeah,that's what i needed to know,thanks stink. the 2nd post kinda threw me off??? i took'em out with BFH and it sat til the parts(moog)came in. i can't remember if the snap ring goes in the upper or lower,(no beverages involved).
